What fabulous day at Kenwood House, plein aire painting and sketching with mentoring provided by the lovely Estelle Lovatt. A group of 14 members and nonmembers braved the hot weather to take part in this event, which also provided an opportunity for those that wished to visit the John Singer Sargent 'Heiress' exhibition and Kenwood's own galleries.

Following registration and a short introduction from Estelle at 11am, small groups took up various positions in the shade in the beautiful grounds of the house. Estelle visited all participants multiple times, and her guidance and advice were very well received. She even looked after people's kit while they visited the exhibitions!

More of the same followed a break for lunch, and after around 4 hours, people started making their way home.

We had some great feedback from participants on what a nice day it had been, and from passers-by interested in what we were doing. Our thanks to Estelle for her expertise and to Barbara, whose advanced info about Kenwood was invaluable. Thanks also to all those who took part and made this such a lovely event. We will look to do more in the future!
